Meet our Special Guest Speaker

Our distinguished guest speaker for the Clinical Summit is Janine Shepherd, an internationally acclaimed keynote speaker, best-selling author, and resilience coach. Prepare to be uplifted and empowered as Janine imparts her invaluable insights and strategies for cultivating resilience and unlocking life's full potential to fuel personal and professional growth. We're also proud to note that Janine is a valued client of Astris PME.

Janine's story is one of resilience and determination. Initially destined for the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics as an Australian champion skier, her life took an unexpected turn when she became the victim of a devastating accident during a training bike ride, resulting in severe, life-threatening injuries. Despite enduring almost six gruelling months in the hospital and facing the daunting task of rehabilitation with permanent disabilities, Janine didn't merely learn to walk again—she defied the odds and learned to soar.

Embarking on flight training while still in a plaster body cast, Janine ultimately achieved her commercial pilot rating and even became an instructor in aerobatics. Despite being told that motherhood might be out of reach for her, she now proudly embraces the role of a mother to three children.

Janine Shepherd is not only an internationally renowned speaker but also the author of six best-selling books. Her TED talk, "A Broken Body Isn't a Broken Person," has resonated with millions around the globe. She has been featured on esteemed programs such as Australian "60 Minutes" and "This is Your Life," and has received her country's highest honour, The Order of Australia. Recognised as an 'Architect of Change' by Maria Shriver and named one of the 'Ten Outstanding Young People of the World,' Janine is also an ambassador for Spinal Cure Australia and Red Bull's Wings for Life initiative. Her incredible life story has been adapted into a movie, titled after her first book, "Never Tell Me Never."

Today, Janine Shepherd travels the world, spreading her message of resilience and transformation, inspiring countless individuals along the way.
