Ormesa Birillo Sitting/Walking Frame
The Ormesa Birillo is a combined walking and sitting frame designed to help children move more freely and safely while encouraging exploration of their surroundings. It gives the child an opportunity to use their legs while in a supported seated position, making it a useful introduction to a more traditional standing walker when weight-bearing capacity or standing strength is still limited.
Its triangular sitting position is designed to help reduce excessive hip and trunk extension while supporting better head and trunk alignment. An abduction block helps maintain pelvic positioning within this seated posture, encouraging a more stable and functional setup.
The Birillo comes standard with a latex-free seat and back cushion and an adjustable abductor, helping promote upright sitting and more effective alignment of the spine and pelvis for improved lower limb mobility. With an adjustable abduction block, adjustable handlebar, and height-adjustable frame, it is designed to adapt to the child’s growth over time.
For children who require more postural support, an optional headrest and optional tray/table are also available. The Birillo can be a valuable tool for therapists, teachers, and parents, helping support a child’s overall strength, endurance, and mobility.
It is generally recommended for children aged approximately 2 to 8 years with mild to moderate physical disabilities, and is available in four sizes.
